Went to Clutch at The Knitting Factory Saturday night. They were incredibly good. I also really enjoyed Lionize. Lionize opened the show with a song that said "Drunk and dangerous" for the chorus. I have to admit, that song resonated with me. At least the chorus did....especially then. The crowd ration was about 20 men to one woman. Exactly my kind of crowd. ha.
Baroness was the second band to play. I did not like them.
Clutch was awesome.
Sunday I was hungover and texting with a guy I had met at the Clutch show. He ends all of his texts with "dowhatyourtold" The misspelling is a big turn off to me, but also, just the fact his automatic signature line is an order disgusts me. I am not easy to please.
Sunday night, I was back at The Knitting Factory for Godsmack. What a fantastic show that was. It started with Drowning Pool. I enjoyed them, however the only song I recognized was the one about bodies hitting the floor. Godsmack's mosh pit was happening and I escaped my friends and got out on the floor. My Peep's boyfriend found me and he was terrified I was getting beat up or trampled and tried to get me out of there. I refused. Later he said it horrified him to look in my eyes and see no fear. I think I've been in worse mosh pits than that, although it was a good one.
I have tickets to Marilyn Manson coming in September. I fear the mosh pit there. I have heard rumors that at one point in the show, he spits on people and they spit back. The mere thought of it gags me. Anyone know if that is true?

It has been 3 months since my last confession.
I have a surprising lack of interest in anything political, economical, entertainical or religical.
I do have an abiding interest in espresso vodka mixed with kahlua and milk......while playing Guitar Hero.

Wow.....tonight, BSG, my favorite!!!
And, tomorrow and Sunday, no work? Can it be possible? I've been working 7 day weeks since late August....two days off in a row seems enormous to me. ENORMOUS!!!!! I'm almost giddy.
Random: I love booze. I stopped and got some Tuaca (sp?) I don't know, I think that is what it was, and it came with a booklet full of drink recipes. Those who know me, know I have a full bar, my selection of booze would put many establishments to shame. And it is fun for me to add to it, so I picked up quite a few things to add last night. Wasabi flavored vodka, check. I've yet to try it, everyone says wasabi is a hot spicy thing...but I've never had it. I was thinking a hot vodka would probably mix well with a fruity something. Like jalapeno and peach jam. That stuff is good. Anyway, 1.5 oz Tuaca, .75 oz Chambord and 1.0 oz sweet & sour shaken over ice and devoured. Yummy.

I am so tired of working 16 hour days Monday through Sunday, except Fridays I sneak out earlier so I can watch BSG...and some Saturdays and some Sundays I only work....12 or 14 hours. Yeah, I'm banking. Sure. But it isn't worth it anymore. Even the sparkly new car my Boss bought me doesn't have the magic to make it better.....especially when it snows and I can't drife it.
But what I hate the MOST about working so much is.......all my complaining about working so much. It is all I have to talk about anymore. What a whiner I am. I dislike whining. /whine
So in other news......I have to get back to work now. And I am just fine with that.

I read that BSG begins today, and that is as far as I can get. I don't even care about the rest of the sentence. BSG begins TODAY!!!
I'm excited. I should be home from work today, chilling like I have been every other time BSG has returned from a hiatus. But I couldn't take the time off because I'm buried with mounds of paperwork. However, my Wonderful!Boss said to me yesterday, "I need you to do this one thing before you are gone tomorrow." I said "Where am I going tomorrow?" and he said "Doesn't BSG start again tomorrow? I assumed you'd be off work." I laughed and laughed.

So, I'm reading my friends pages and I'm seeing this game thing they play where someone tags them with a letter. Then that person uploads the songs from their iPod that begin with that letter. In this particular case, the letter that was used was "O". Just for fun I went to my iPod to see what would happen if I had been given "O". Well, I of course, being the inept LJ user I am, would have no idea how to share this music, so I'm not joining the game. But I WAS playing the game in my head because I'm bored. After I counted the "O" songs in my iPod, I decide I have a serious music problem. I have 152 songs beginning with the letter "O". I have 5 "One" songs alone!! "One" by Creed. "One" by Filter. "One" by Faith Hill. "One" by Metallica. "One" by U2. Who needs that many "One"s? And these aren't covers of the same song. They are all different "One"s. I will have to go count ALL the letters now out of curiosity.
I didn't think I'd have many "X" songs......but crap....there are 12 of those. 12!! Puh. |
